Date 6/7/2011 During today's double lesson, I worked on narrowing my topic and have decided on my research question. My final question is " How have humans progressed in flight".During this lesson we were also shown a example of a A grade folio, so we can use it as a refrence and know what we are expected to do. I learnt a lot from the example and plan on using it as a reference and improving my folio.
Date 8/7/2011 During today's lesson I started my research and I have decided to start at the very beginning where humans tried to copy birds and learn their flying techniques .

Today I have started my research for the holidays as I just returned from training. I went to RAAF base Edinburgh for training which indirectly does help my research as I got to work with pilots and engineers. Now, for my holiday work I have decided to gain some background knowledge and set up a basic timeline and then start doing more in depth research later.

I have managed to write up a basic timeline upto the invention of the first plane. I will be expanding my timeline soon and for my outcome I will be researching all these aspects more and provide it in a presentation.
I have finished my timeline today and I will possibly update it if I find some more information that I think should be used as a part of my research. Today I started in depth research about all the key events in my timeline, I am also keeping a track of what websites I used to do my research and at what date they were accessed at.

Today I was a bit upset and was really unsure that my topic was suitable to research for a whole semester but after having a chat with my research project teacher and after recieving some of Mr.T's guidance, I decided that it was good for me to stick with my topic.

Today I made a definite decision that I was going to stick with my topic and I carried on with my research, I managed to come up with guiding questions and I am going to carry on with my research and try and answer the questions.
Main question : have humans progressed in flight?
Guiding questions:
What motivated humans to fly? How did airplanes change war? How have airplanes developed over the years? How has the invention of flying changed our lifestyle?

In Today's lesson I printed articles that I can research to answer my guiding questions. I will be analysing these articles for homework.
